Job Description

If you can’t see yourself working for another bla bla bla Big 5 consulting firm this summer, you love technology, like working in an ever changing role, and enjoy a crazy, creative and dynamic, bootstrap work environment, you may want to consider joining SeedLab. We need people that are not plain vanilla, that are excited by the idea of organising community events, meeting entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors and geeks from different countries, tweeting, blogging, and working with other crazy young entrepreneurs.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated interest in technology/entrepreneurship
  • Adaptability and strong sense of initiative – you will be asked to do a wide variety of tasks 
  • Strong communication skills (i.e. you like human beings) 
  • Start-up background a plus 
  • Web design/coding knowledge as well as community management experience a plus 
  • Low remuneration expectations. Let’s be honest: we have no money but we think the contacts you will make, the fun you will have and the experience you will get will more than make up for it.

    With the enclosed CV, I would like to express my interest in exploring internship opportunities at Exciting Melbourne Based Incubator. I am particularly attracted to this position because I think that this internship can help me doing what I like and what I dream about, and will help me to know and learn more about the entrepreneurship and innovation.

    As you will see from my resume, I was graduated with the Degree of Engineer (Diplôme d’Ingénieur d’Etat) in Aeronautics from the University of Blida in Algeria, and I’m now a graduate student (Master) at the Ecole Polytechnique ParisTech in France, I’m studying a combined Master program in Innovation Technology with Mechanical and Materials Engineering. I have also a level of 2 years university study in Mathematics and Computer Science.

    Taking initiative has always been my academic and internship focus. I certainly understand responsibility, hold an intense work ethic, and strive to do my best in my situation.

    During my final year project, I have acquired good skills in leading edge engineering principals tools, and practices, with emphasis on designing of mechanical/aeronautical systems. I have a good knowledge of the use of various programming languages such as HTML, Turbo Pascal, FORTRAN, Maple and MATLAB softwares.

    I have a three (3) months work experience as a Research Engineer (CFD) at the National Research Center in Algeria, following with a eight (8) months work experience as an engineer expert at VERITAL Aéronautique, an aeronautical certification and civil aviation quality assurance and inspection company.

    As a founder member and a Secretary General of two association : the Young Algerian Leaders (YAL) and the “Association Scientifique de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace ASAE ”, the Aeronautics and Space Scientific Association at the university of Blida, and as I am a also a member of the ” Réseau Algérien de Jeunes Engagés “, I developed my teamwork and leadership skills, and I am in charge of planning meetings, activities and our annual national seminar, and I’m interested of volunteering activities in Algeria and in the Maghreb region.

    My motivation and objective over requesting this job position, is the hope of working in a challenging environment that I can put all my skills into a real projects and to mainly improve my competences and develop my skills and to discover more about entrepreneurship, start-ups and innovation and about how startups works.

    I consider my scientific and academic background a good starting point to face new professional issues, so that my current desire is to improve my abilities. I consider the aptitude to work in team very important; therefore the ability to handle complex situations in which technical and human relations reach a very hard synthesis is a critical factor. I am also convinced that I can learn faster being in contact with people who have much more experience than me, on the other hand trying to give my contribution in order to participate more actively in the resolution of possible problems that may arise.

    I would like to bring my energy, enthusiasm for challenges; desire to make the difference, organization, teamwork skills, and persuasive ability to your company/team.
