This is an opportunity to come on board and be involved in an established startup, for a world class e-commerce website. You have the choise of working in our Balmain office on the water or in our other location on William St, Potts Point (5 mins walk from the CBD).
Initially a 4 month contract (with view to extend) we are looking not just for developers who love a technical challenge and want to grow into the role and company. Working in a team of 6 you will focus on improving the websites for a brand name that is well known internationally. You will have the opportunity to make significant technical decisions.
To be successful in this role you will have
- Minimum 2 years Ruby on Rails experience (In a Linux or OS X environment)
- Significant exposure to high traffic public facing sites
- Strong web development experience in HTML, CSS and Java Script
- Strong knowledge of internet technologies e.g. HTTP, TCP/IP
- Solid SQL experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Online marketing skills (e.g. SEO, building content pages), though you will be guided by the company founder who has an SEO consultancy.
